Department of ADPR

Overview

In the twenty-first century, communication by corporations and organizations has become increasingly important across all dimensions of politics, economy, society, and culture. The Department seeks to advance scholarly approaches to major organizational communication activities, including advertising, public relations, and marketing communication. Through this endeavor, the Department aims to cultivate master’s- and doctoral-level researchers as well as highly skilled professionals who can contribute to the development of both academia and industry, ultimately pursuing human well-being and social advancement.

The Department's primary educational objective is to foster professionals who can contribute to the scientific advancement and cultural development of advertising, public relations, and related fields, thereby promoting effective communication among members of society. Advertising and public relations studies comprehensively address communication between organizations—including corporations, government agencies, and non-profit institutions—and their various publics and consumers. Accordingly, the Department provides integrated education covering the planning, production, and management of these communication activities.
